UV Surface Disinfection and Sterilisation

For uv surface disinfection, both conventional UV and microwave UV systems can be used . In general, surfaces are more difficult to treat because there are two fundamental conditions which need to be met: The contaminated surface area must be fully irradiated by UVC, i.e. the UVC disinfection will not occur in shadowed areas. The treated surface must be within reasonable proximity to the UV lamp because the UVC light drops off exponentially with distance, i.e. the distant surfaces may need longer exposure time in order to achieve required level of disinfection. Disinfection of surfaces with UVC radiation can be achieved using various ways and especially microwave UV systems offers great flexibility of design. For example, UV tunnels can be created to achieve 360 degrees irradiation. Conventional UV lamps are the most common source of UVC radiation for surface disinfection. Typically, the lamps are installed at front of the reflectors so that the UVC radiation is focused on the treated area. In food industry applications, UV lamps can also be coated with fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) to achieve a high level of protection against glass contamination caused by accidental breakages. Over the years we have acquired valuable expertise in both conventional UV and microwave UV systems design for uv surface disinfection.
